Being in Bali has allowed us to slow down, to figure out what our priorities are as a family and most importantly, to spend more time with our kids. As we look forward to our upcoming move to Portugal we know it will be hard but we also know the why behind it. We want to be closer to our families. We want to live in a place where we don’t worry about safety in schools. A country with good food (and wine!) and affordable healthcare. Where we can live near the ocean but also be near a city. And where we can have a grand European adventure. Thats the real life I want for my family. Expat family. American family abroad. Moving abroad. Life outside the United States.

  • My first women’s trip to Bali is in the books! ❤️ For the last week a group of strangers, who have become friends, traveled together to my favorite parts of Bali all while meeting some of the best people who call this island home. We stayed in unique villas, went deep on Balinese culture, biked through the most stunning landscapes and swam with manta rays. We had plentiful massages, a relaxing sound healing and meditative yoga with a sprinkle of rain just as we got into shavasana. We all tried new things, overcame some fears and learned about ourselves. I’ll share more soon, but I’ll say this: I’m already planning the next Women’s Trip to Bali! Want to come next time?
