Bali Women’s Trip 2025

The theme of this trip is enjoying Bali without kids. Yes, I know I go on and on about coming to Bali as a family, but honestly, some things are better experienced without them. Like an interior design tour. Or having a relaxing balinese massage. Or even an uninterrupted dinner with adult conversation! I’ve carefully curated this itinerary to contain the perfect blend of culture, relaxation and adventure.

Read on to see if this trip is right for you!

Trip Details:

When: April 26 – May 3, 2025

Who: Women 25+ years who want to see the “real” Bali and all the beauty it has to offer, and make new friends with like minded women! *Please note this trip is limited to only 10 women.

What: A trip to some of my favorite spots in Bali, where we’ll get off the beaten path and experience all that Bali has to offer. We’ll ride bikes through UNESCO World Heritage Site rice fields, swim with manta rays, immerse ourselves in Balinese culture, have plenty of yoga and massage, eat all the delicious foods and MORE!

Where: Bali, Indonesia

Cost: $2300 per person. Includes all accommodations in 4-star villas and resorts, ALL meals, transportation and transfers in Bali, guides and excursions, yoga classes, and welcome massage! Not included: airfare to Bali, alcoholic drinks, snacks and tips.

A $500 USD deposit secures your spot! Payment plans available (2 payments of $900 or 4 payments of $450)

Sounds good, I'm in!

Our Itinerary:

Day 1 (April 26): Arrival at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport by 3pm, transfer to Canggu area (Approx 1 hour), welcome swim and dinner. We’ll be staying at a villa decorated by my favorite designers in Southeast Asia!

Day 2 (April 27): We’ll join some of Bali’s most talented designers on a daylong tour of Bali’s most beautiful homes and incredible artisans. Sunset and dinner on the beach.

Day 3 (April 28): A chilled morning before checking out of our villa. We’ll travel towards the interior of the island, embarking on an overnight experience to see the “real” Bali.  This will be full immersion into Balinese life and culture! We will stay in a Balinese family compound, learning about their culture, architecture and spirituality. We will learn the pillars of Balinese cooking with a special focus on learning about the medical properties of spices and roots.

Day 4 (April 29): We will wake up early hike together to do a melukat water purification ceremony far off the tourist trail with a local priest. We’ll then dry off and hike to a local farm for an organic lunch and gentle yoga and meditation. We’ll say goodbye to our hosts and head to the jungle, staying in a breathtaking bamboo structure that is truly a work of art, overlooking a sacred river.

Day 5 (April 30): The morning will be spent exploring amazing rice fields and landscapes. We will also have a chance to learn more about bamboo architecture and visit a community of homes built entirely out of bamboo!

Day 6 (May 1): Travel over to the neighboring island of Nusa Lembongan, a 30 minute boat ride from Bali. We’ll stay in a prime location where we can swim, lounge and explore! My favorite spa in all of Bali is on Lembongan, so we’ll be sure to get massages this afternoon while we listen to the waves crash below.

Day 7 (May 2): Early morning snorkel excursion to swim with the mantas, search for sea turtles and if we’re lucky, spot some dolphins! The afternoon can be spent at the spa, taking a surf lesson, stand up paddle boarding or lounging on the pontoon just watching the surfers. Sunset farewell dinner together.

Day 8 (May 3): After breakfast we’ll head back to Bali by boat where you can fly out any time after 4 pm.

Take me to Bali!

Accommodation and Transportation

We’ll be staying in unique and high end villas for 6 nights. I can’t wait for you to see where we’re staying – think Architectural Digest and the pages of your favorite interior design magazines come to life. And one night we have the opportunity to stay with a Balinese family in their compound. A truly special experience to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the balinese culture.

All transportation during this trip is included, from airport pick up and drop off to transportation around the island and by boat to Nusa Lembongan.

We booked our trip with @breathebhutan who specializes in family travel in Bhutan. We loved their ethos of crafting meaningful experiences for travelers in Bhutan that also benefit the local communities.

This trip isn’t easy with kids, but in our opinion, was definitely worth it. It taught them so many life lessons and gave us so much uninterrupted time together as a family. It has been fun to hear the kids recount their stories to our friends and family knowing these are memories they’ll have with them forever ❤️

  • We just got back from a country with no traffic lights, no chain stores, and no crowds—and it might be the most magical place we’ve ever been. ✨

Bhutan isn’t your typical family vacation. It’s peaceful, intentional, and deeply rooted in culture and connection. Instead of chasing sights, we spent our days hiking through pine forests, making butter on a mountainside farm, and receiving blessings from monks in ancient monasteries.

With limited Wi-Fi and no distractions, we unplugged—and reconnected in the best way possible.

This was an 8-day, 7-night journey through Bhutan, beautifully organized by @breathebhutan. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged to match our family’s pace and interests.

And a huge heartfelt thank you to our incredible guide Kiran and our kind, steady driver Azha Wangdi—you made this trip unforgettable. 💛

If you’re craving a different kind of adventure—one that fills your heart instead of your itinerary—put Bhutan on your list. 🇧🇹💫

  • After 3 years living in Bali and staying at MANY places, here are 5 more we’d stay at again:

📍Save this post for your next trip to Bali with kids!

1. Bali Eco Stay. We first stayed here 10 years ago on our honeymoon and it was just as great with kids. If you want to see firsthand what sustainability and working with the local community looks like, stay here. Think meals prepared with ingredients from the property and handicraft classes taught by a local grandfather. There is no pool, just swimming in streams and the on-site waterfall. Heaven. @baliecostay

2. Rimba by Ayana. Besides the largest indoor/outdoor kids club in Bali, this place has so much to do. Pools, tram rides, elevators to the private beach, cultural dinners and an amazing spa - you’ll never need to leave the resort for everyone in the family to have a good time. @rimbabyayana

3. Munduk Moding Plantation. We loved our stay here in a working coffee plantation. There is a slew of activities each day from horseback riding, guided plantation tours, cooking classes and even making crafts out of recycled plastic. The pools and hot tubs have amazing views over the rest of Bali. @mundukmodingplantation

4. Coral View Villas. This is the perfect base for families to explore Amed. The beachfront villas are perfect for families and the snorkeling off the beach is world class. There is no kids club here but our kids couldn’t care less, spending their time running around the gardens, splashing in the pool and treasure hunting on the beach. @coral_view_villas

5. Subak Tabola Villa. If you want your family to experience the true magic of Bali, book a stay here for a couple nights. Located in Sidemen, one of the most beautiful countrysides in all of Bali, you’ll be able to wake up early with Mama Ati to participate in daily prayers and join school children in the afternoon to make traditional offerings or learn Balinese dance or try your hand at gamelan music. @subaktabola_villa
